The Utility Room is a new kind of space for flexible working, meeting and other activities related to the development of artistic practice in the city, that is designed to encourage artists to self-organise. We are inviting proposals from local artists to support the redevelopment of this space ahead of opening in October 2021.

Throughout August local, interdisciplinary artist Rob Hamp will be travelling to some of the UK’s busiest and most littered beaches to collect litter and sand ahead of making a new architectural artwork that encourages recycling, civic pride, and that asks us to look again at our own relationship to waste.
