Join us for an afternoon of artist moving image in the beautiful Temperate House in Jephson’s Gardens.
For Biota, Biomes and Bodies we encourage you to take a short journey through Jephsons Gardens; a Victorian pleasure garden, along the path and into its contemporary Glass House, an impressive temperate house containing tropical plants and fish, to see moving image artworks by three artists including a trilogy of works by Ella Yolande, two films by Djuna O’Neill and a single project by Jol Thoms.
These works all explore technology and its relationship to plantlife, this site-responsive event responds to Leamington Spa’s identity as the Silicon Spa and the immediate surroundings of the gardens.
The artist’s works explore human relationships with both nature and technology through storytelling, world building, curiosities around gardens as well as fictional hybrid organisms and landscape-laboratories.
This programme of six short films, curated by Emily Gardner provides insights into a new generation of artists working with the moving image, technology and that are responding to the world around us.
