HYPER-POSSIBLE at Leamington Spa Art Gallery and Museum is a significant group show in the third Coventry Biennial that expands our exhibitions programme into the nearby county of Warwickshire.

The exhibition brings together newly commissioned projects and existing artworks from national collections, creating an opportunity to look back at what has made the local area unique while also reflecting on an increasingly complex global situation.

HYPER-POSSIBLE references the radical nature of our area’s history while also signifying a positive way forward following a deeply difficult 2020. The exhibition explores the legacies of artist-led networks, activisms and pedagogies that have emerged from and through the local area since the 1960s. These mark the region as an outstanding exemplar of innovative, experimental and radical artistic practice.

Artists exhibiting at Leamington Spa Art Gallery and Museum will present projects along all six of the Biennial’s HYPER-PATHS, creating an exhibition that critically examines the present and recent past, that imagines radical futures, and that has a particular focus on the nature of identity.

Artists include:

Art & Language, Terry Atkinson, Nuotama Bodomo, Jeremy Deller (with Alan Kane), Claudette Johnson, Matthew Krishanu, Helen Kilby Nelson, Chris Ofili, Keith Piper, Luke Routledge, Sin Wai Kin
