Collage with Niall and show your work as part of the Biennial!

While Harvesting you will have time to delve into the many illustrated encyclopaedias, sourcing interesting images, cutting them out and creating collage resource pages ready to repurpose into new figures and landscapes.

For Coventry Biennial 2025, Niall Singh is delivering a participatory project called The Recyclopaedia, this project will use collaborative collage and printmaking workshops to recycle materials from outdated encyclopaedias into new artworks and publications.

The project aims to replace the kinds of imperial, colonial, racist and sexist content that is often presented as so-called fact in these kinds of publications in a way that is collaboratively authored and rooted in skills development.

The space will be an open workshop based on the discipline of collage and participants will gain experience of sourcing and creating a ‘resource book’ (or recyclopaedia) and new collaged artworks.

Participants will have the opportunity to collaborate directly with Niall and are encouraged to sign-up to all 5 sessions – Introducing, Harvesting, Arranging, Making, Printing – but you don’t have to if you can’t make it to some of them!
