Moving on and what would Rosanne say? is a performance by members of Cycles Dance Company. The performance uses the exhibition Body as Archive, Archive as Score: Cycles Dance Company 1974-1982 as a starting point to consider the influence that Cycles has had on the artists’ individual practices.
The performance comprises of a video work by Sally Sykes alongside performance and improvised movement by members of Cycles Dance Company including co-founder Cecilia Macfarlane, Duncan Holt, Helen Rowsell and Judy Webb. The video acts as a timekeeper or score, prompting the performers with visual and audio cues whilst providing a structure for the performers to work within and respond to. The structure and movement for this performance takes influence from the flurry of activity engendered in the act of revisiting archival works. The performance will be accompanied by live music from cellist Jacqui Johnson.
