Mothers Who Make Coventry: Peer Support Session & Guided Tour

Mothers Who Make Coventry is a peer support network focused on the dual roles of mothers/birth-givers and care-givers who are also makers/artists/creative people.  

Join us in Learning Space 2 at the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum for an inclusive, supportive and friendly meeting for any kind of maker and any kind of mother/birth-giver or care-giver who identifies as female or non-binary. A chance to reflect on how we are doing within the duality of our creative lives and mothering lives in a non-judgemental, respectful space.

As apart of this session, Coventry Biennial’s Artistic Director & CEO Ryan Hughes will give Hub members a tour of …like a short cut through the brambles @ the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum. To join for the tour, please meet us at 1pm at the cafe entrance. Following this the peer support session will take place in Learning Space 2 as usual.

Mothers Who Make events are adult-focused however children are always welcome and toys are provided. Sessions explore emergent themes, points of connection, points of dissonance, particular challenges and helpful resources. 

Every kind of maker is welcome, professional and/or passionate including writers, painters, performers, film makers, musicians, technicians, producers, bakers, crafters and academics. We hope to reach across generations and art forms, celebrating the plurality of voices which are part of this discussion.

Please note: This event will take place on the ground floor, accessible for prams and wheelchairs. Toilets and baby-change nearby. Cafe open 10am – 4pm.
