Here: A Discussion on (Some Local) Artistic Practices

You are viewing an archived event. This event has already taken place.

This informal discussion afternoon provides an opportunity to find out more about a number of practitioners who are based in Coventry and Warwickshire that we are working with while Developing Coventry Biennial 2023.

The afternoon also provides a broader opportunity to discuss the particulars of artistic practices in Coventry, Warwickshire and the wider West Midlands and offers a chance to meet peers and colleagues from across the local scene and sector. The event includes creative and insightful inputs from artists and curators including:

Ania Bas (Artist)
Jo Gane (Artist & Researcher)
Ryan Hughes (Artistic Director & CEO, Coventry Biennial)
Mothers Who Make Coventry (Local Peer Support Network)
Dr Ian Sergeant (Curator, Coventry Biennial)
Janet Tryner (Artist)

Following projects and presentations by these artists and the Coventry Biennial team there will be an opportunity to ask questions, discuss and network.

Throughout the event, there will be child friendly activities facilitated by Mothers Who Make Coventry.

Please note: The Faculty of Arts Building is not usually open on weekends and so booking is essential. When you arrive please come to the front door (to the right of Cafe Nero) where a member of our team will welcome and direct you to the cinema space.

Free, booking essential.
You can join us at University of Warwick or you can watch online. You will receive a link ahead of the event.

This event is generously funded by Arts Council England, Coventry City Council and Coventry University and is supported and hosted by University of Warwick’s Institute of Engagement.
