Coventry Biennial Cycle Club is designed to connect people with artists and cultural institutions in Coventry and Warwickshire in a social way that benefits health, wellbeing and promotes mutual support.
During this meeting the Cycle Club will ride from the Old Grammar School in Coventry City Centre to the University of Warwick where we’ll join the Kenilworth Greenway, cycling off-road out to Kenilworth before returning by the same route. While on the Greenway we’ll pass-by the HS2 works, providing an opportunity for discussion around the environmental impacts of these major construction works.
When back at the Old Grammar School, we’ll open the doors for others to join us for a special screening of Cracked Earth by Shift Cycling Culture as a part of the timely film’s international premiere tour.
Cracked Earth (30 minutes) captures the lives of cyclists worldwide, living in areas where climate change is no longer a future threat, but a daily reality. A reality highlighting how global and interlinked these seemingly local effects are – and how urgent the climate crisis is.
We love where we ride. Let’s act accordingly.

The Coventry Biennial Cycle Club is FREE and open to everyone, however, for your safety and the safety of the group, we ask that you observe the following rules and guidelines:
- Ensure that your bike is road worthy, has lights and perhaps a bell.
- Ensure that you wear a helmet at all times, as well as weather appropriate clothing.
- Bring your own water, and other ride supplies (perhaps a phone, inner tube, pump and tool).
This event includes a total of 16 miles cycling, starting on public roads but the vast majority of the ride will take place off-road and on cycle paths.
Each meeting of the Coventry Biennial Cycle Club will be led by members of the Coventry Biennial team who will ensure that no one is left behind by the group, and that informal support is available along the route and at our destinations.
Please note: This event is not suitable for anyone under the age of 16. Participants under the age of 18 must be joined by a parent or guardian throughout the event (all attendees must hold tickets).
This event is generously funded by Arts Council England, Coventry City Council and is supported by Shift Cycling Culture.
