Rob Hamp, Art Can be Rubbish Too, Site Visit, 2021
Join local, interdisciplinary artist Rob Hamp for a relaxed and informal litter picking session at the Canal Basin as a part of Ludic Rooms‘ Roam and Dwell programme.
Throughout August, Rob will work with a wide range of community groups to collect sand and waste from some of the UK’s busiest and most littered beaches before re-telling this story through the creation of a new architectural artwork that encourages recycling, civic pride and that asks us to look again at our own relationship to waste.
Join us to launch this innovative and collaborative project along Coventry’s own waterways before Rob heads off to various costal locations to prove that Art Can Be Rubbish Too.
Bin bags and gloves will be provided, all you need to bring is the desire to help clean your local Canal.
Art Can Be Rubbish Too has been co-commissioned with UK City of Culture 2021 / Green Futures.
