British Art Show 10 is coming to Coventry!

The exhibition, called A Chorus of Strangers, will take place at the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum, The Mead Gallery and Coventry University’s Delia Derbyshire Building from the 2nd October 2026 until the 10th January 2027.

The Coventry Art Show has been designed as a local response to the city hosting the British Art Show and we’re pleased to announce that we are the Moments of Being strand lead. Over the coming months we will be presenting exhibitions, events and activities across the city.

Today, we have announced that for the duration of the British Art Show, at the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum, we will be presenting a display of John Riddy’s photographs that explore modernist spaces.

We’ll be announcing more activities over the coming weeks and months – so keep an eye on our website and social media channels!

The other Coventry Art Show strand leads are:

SOMA a mobile collection of books, journals, archival material and exhibition catalogues that centre Black art and culture. They are leading the Ways of Living strand.

Talking Birds a company of artists known for their gently provocative projects which explore, and seek to illuminate, the profound and complex relationships between people and place. They are leading the States of Nature strand.

These strands align with the British Art Show 10 themes and were designed by the fantastic Ekow Eshun, the curator of that exhibition. You can read more about the strands here.
