CONGRATULATIONS: RENE MATIĆ NOMINATED FOR THE TURNER PRIZE

We were delighted to hear that Rene Matić has been nominated for the Turner Prize!
Rene’s work was included in the most recent Coventry Biennial programme where we presented a newly commissioned sound and sculptural installation called Mid Land at the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum.
Ryan Hughes (Artistic Director and CEO, Coventry Biennial) said:
“Rene Matić is such a fantastic artist who presents the richness and energy of contemporary life in the UK and their Turner Prize nomination is so well deserved. We had the pleasure of working with them and colleagues at the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum to present an innovative and participatory work that explored dance floor cultures and created a space that supported shared experiences in the gallery. It’s tremendous to see the next generation of artists starting to get the recognition they deserve!”
We wish them best of luck and can’t wait to visit the exhibition in Bradford as a part of their year as UK City of Culture later this year.
