Ian Sergeant at the British Art Network Conference

We’re pleased to share that Dr Ian Sergeant will be a panelist at Curatorial Reimaginings the 2024 British Art Network conference taking place in Birmingham on the 28th and 29th November.
Ian was one of the curators of Coventry Biennial 2023 and was a curatorial resident with us in 2021. He will be contributing to a panel called Festival Futures that has been convened by our friends at Liverpool Biennial. The promotional materials explain:
“This panel discussion brings together representatives from four UK organisations who are curating contemporary visual art in a festival format and has been convened by Liverpool Biennial as part of an ongoing investigation into the future viability and sustainability of the festival format in the visual arts. The panellists will discuss the positives of delivering for ‘the moment’ and how one festival programme can embed or instil the necessary groundwork to sustain a festival’s future; the unique challenges of curating festivals, sustainable futures and programming across diverse venues and in response to place.”
We’re certain that this will be an insightful and valuable discussion that will contribute to a rich and varied national conference taking place in the West Midlands.
