We’re delighted to announce that we have awarded a pair of Coventry University 3rd year Fine Art students with professional development residencies.

Lara Hanson and Ann Middleton will undertake tailored opportunities designed to support them to develop their artistic practices in a professional and supportive context, alongside their final year of undergraduate study.

Ryan Hughes (Artistic Director & CEO, Coventry Biennial) comments:

“There’s amazing talent in art schools and we’re really pleased to be able to continue our long standing relationship with Coventry University in a way that enables us to nurture and play a role in developing that talent.”

Lara and Ann will receive unique opportunities including constructive curatorial feedback and support with developing and making new art works. The residency format is flexible so that it can support them both in ways and at a time when they have identified that they need it most over this academic year.

Hannah Colvin (Course Director BA Fine Art, Coventry University) says:

“We are delighted that our Fine Art students have been given this opportunity as a result of their dedication and ambition throughout their time on the Fine Art course. The Coventry Biennial residencies serve as a valuable launchpad for graduating students, offering them practical experience, meaningful connections, and a platform for creative development—paving the way for their future success.”

Both students will be sharing their work via Coventry Biennial’s social media channels throughout the residency, follow @covbiennial for more information.

This residency programme is generously supported by Coventry University.
