CONGRATULATIONS: GRACE NDIRITU NOMINATED FOR THE JARMAN AWARD

It was wonderful to read in The Guardian that Grace Ndiritu has been nominated for the prestigious Jarman Award!
The award is given annually to recognise and support the most innovative UK-based artists working with moving image, and celebrates the spirit of experimentation, imagination and innovation in the work of emerging artist filmmakers.
Launched in 2008 and inspired by visionary filmmaker Derek Jarman, the award is offered by Film London and this years winner will be announced in November 2022.
Grace Ndiritu presented a pair of works as a part of the Coventry Biennial 2021 programme, including Black Beauty: For A Shamanic Cinema, that we were delighted to be one of the co-commissioners of alongside Nottingham Contemporary and Kunstencentrum Vooruit.

“We’ve worked with Grace over a number of years, her work on alternative economics inspired our organisations commitment to using Pay What You Can and it was wonderful to be able support on the development and presentation of Black Beauty which is an amazing work that brings together a huge range of times, places and ideas. Grace has an entirely unique practice and I think this nomination really reflects that.”
