Recycle With Us: Seeking used Cardboard, Socks & Tee-Shirts
Anne Forgan & Kirstie Lewis, Material Experiments, 2019
Coventry Biennial 2019’s Sister Projects are activities which we are making in close collaboration with a wide range of partners, groups and organisations.
STEPS: Crafting Change is a new contemporary art initiative co-developed by homelessness charity Crisis and Coventry Biennial. Supporting STEPS For Change, a multi-agency drop in service addressing rough sleeping across Coventry city centre; Anne Forgan, Kirstie Lewis and service users will make and exhibit new collaboratively produced installations through a series of group workshops.
Cardboard, socks and tee-shirts, all items of huge relevance to those who are sleeping rough, will be used to create new installations and we are now seeking donations of these materials to be used during the workshops.
Clean but used socks (holes are fine!), tee-shirts and cardboard which you wish to donate can be delivered to the Coventry Biennial office on Mondays and Tuesdays until the 3rd September, though as workshops with Crisis will be starting immediately we would really appreciate speedy donations.
Our office is generously hosted by Coventry Artspace at: Floor 4, Eaton House, Eaton Road, Coventry, CV1 2FJ
When delivering these materials please report to the buildings ground floor reception who will direct you to the 4th floor where you can find Fra Lugli, our intern who is overseeing donations for this initiative.
Questions and alternative drop off days can be arranged by contacting Fra Lugli
