Sky Blue Making: A Second Kickstarter Update

As we head into the new year, we only have a couple of our kickstarter rewards to still deliver, with all of the others arriving with their new owners before the festive break.
The Sky Blue Making campaign was designed to assist us in commissioning and presenting new artworks by artists from Coventry and Warwickshire for our 2019 festival.
Following our announcement last month that the first artist we are commissioning with the support of our kickstarter backers was Jonny Bark, we are delighted to announce that the second Coventry based artist we will be commissioning is Edie Jo Murray.
During Coventry Biennial 2019 Edie will present an immersive and intimate new artwork, using virtual reality technologies to create a new digital environment which biennial visitors will be able to fully experience and explore throughout October and November. The biennial team will work closely with her and we hope that this commission will allow new audiences to engage with Edie’s work and to discover how artists are using emergent technologies within their work.
Edie says:
I am really excited to be invited by Coventry Biennial to make a piece of virtual reality work. I was recently able to begin exploring this medium thanks to the support of a Black Hole Club Bursary from Vivid Projects, and this new commission will be a valuable opportunity to further develop these skills. I am keen to work with both the advantages and unique challenges afforded by the medium, and look forward to bringing a VR experience to the Biennial audience.
We will be adding more information about Jonny, Edie and the remaining artist who we will be commissioning through our Sky Blue Making Kickstarter to our website over the coming weeks and months.
We’ll also be adding a document to our website which lists and celebrates the generous people who contributed to our kickstarter, allowing these exciting projects to take place.
